If you’re lucky enough to have a pool, covering it when it’s not in use can do more than you think. Pool water evaporates in the heat, and covering your pool prevents evaporation. By preventing this evaporation, you won’t have to add water to your pool as often. It also helps keep your pool cool during the day!

What are some other ways we can conserve water during the hot Long Island summer?

I’ve heard that maintaining chemical levels and proper circulation in your pool can help avoid needing to drain your pools for cleaning out the water!

Hi, definitely, you should cover your swimming pool. A lot of things can be saved by a pool cover. Having a pool cover can reduce the number of times your pool will need back-washing. It filters out the leaves and other wastes which fall into the pool. It also can save pool water evaporation by up to 95% and reduces chemical usage. I have been using the pool covers from the Sydney City Pool Covers for 6 years and they have been very useful since. There are various types of pool covers on the market, such as bubble blankets, thermal blankets, leaf covers, and slat covers. Bubble blankets are mostly used now and are easy to install and use.
